You can do a 12 or 24 hour fast and get your friends, colleagues and family to sponsor you for the challenge. You must be over 14 years of age to participate, and if you are under 18 you’ll need your parents’ permission.
Remember to drink lots of fluids and have a cup of soup if you need it. If you feel dizzy, eat something immediately. If you’re under stress or if you’re tired, we recommend that you don’t fast until you feel better.
Please sign up by completing the form HERE to start your Personal Campaign Page and receive your sponsorship cards and Registration Letter.
Please note you must be over 14 to register. If you are between 14 and 16 you will need parental consent to participate in this event. If you're under 14 then it will not be possible to take part in this event but you might like to fundraise for YSPI in another way. If you have any questions please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org before you register.
After you have completed the sign up process on this website we will send out your Fundraising Pack, including your Authorisation Letter, sponsorship cards and information on fundraising.
Please read before you signup
Fasting is not recommended for anyone who is diabetic, pregnant or breastfeeding – or has asthma, tuberculosis, kidney or liver problems, or an eating disorder. If in doubt, ask your doctor. If you feel light-headed, achy or ill, just eat something. Your health comes first and your sponsors will understand.
Do not fast for more than 24 hours.
Yes, you can.
Some people like to pick a day that is important to them or commemorates an anniversary. Please just let us know when your fast day will be in case we need to adjust your Sponsorship Cards. You can let us know at email@example.com
Yes, there are some important guidelines for fasting!
You shouldn't fast if you're diabetic, if you have kidney or liver problems, or if you're pregnant or breast feeding. Also, you shouldn't take part if you suffer from an eating disorder, asthma or tuberculosis. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Remember to drink lots of fluids and have a cup of soup if you need it. If you feel dizzy, eat something immediately. If you’re under stress or if you’re tired, we recommend that you don’t fast until you feel better. If, at any point during your fast, you become dizzy, light-headed or develop a headache, you should eat something.
Don't worry about not completing the fast – your sponsors will understand.
Social media, gaming, watching TV, eating sweets etc are just a few of the things you can skip for a day. Try and pick something that would be as challenging for you personally to give up for the day as food would be.
Once people know you are making an effort, then they will be happy to support you.
There is no set amount that you need to raise to take part in this event, but your personal fundraising page sets a starting target of €50. You can increase or decrease this amount. We are of course very grateful for all funds raised, but we also want everyone taking part in this event to have fun and to not feel under pressure to reach unrealistic targets.
We supply you with sponsorship cards that are valid until 3 weeks after your Fast, but you can ask us to extend the authorisation period if required.
You must be over 14 to register. If you are between 14 and 18 you will need parental consent to participate in this event. If you're under 14 then it will not be possible to take part in this event.

We have only two salaried staff and all our services and administration are provided by volunteers. All our Trustees and Managers are volunteers and receive no remuneration for their duties.
